Export Track as csv file?

I used OpenCPN to create a Track of a route I was on.

The track can be viewed perfectly both on the screen and reviewing the Track Properties which shows the distance, Long, Lat. etc.

How can the Track be exported as a CSV (or text file for that matter)?

I noticed that gpsbabel does a good job of providing the long, lat. info but I can't figure out how to get more detailed information into a csv format.

Re: Export Track as csv file?

PDA1,
AFIK OpenCPN only exports to GPX files. I wrote an MS Excel VBA program to do a number of route, track and waypoint file conversion. It will convert GPX file containing tracks to a CSV file. It is available for download at: GPXconverterVBA, however I haven't updated that web page with the latest version. If you are interested in trying the latest version send me a PM and let me know which version of Excel you are running and I'll send you copy.

Re: Export Track as csv file?

Thank you for the offer but I can only use Libreoffice files or Open Document formatted files.

Thank you.

PDA1...
gpsbabel is able to convert GPX into CSV, apart from other zillion formats - Comma separated values (csv)

Re: Export Track as csv file?

Already tried gpsbabel.

It's nice but doesn't provide all of the information that is found in Track Properties such as Distance, Bearing.

GPS Visualizer provides a (only) slightly better service but you have to be online to use it.

PDA...

This info is not part of the GPX file at all, that's why actually no file conversion tool will give you satisfactory results without further processing.
Can't you use the "copy all as text" feature available in the route properties waypoint list context menu?

Re: Export Track as csv file?

No success in finding the "copy all as text" feature available in the route properties waypoint list context menu.

What I'm trying to get a text copy of the the Route Manager----->Tracks.

What I want is the text of Route Manager----->Tracks----->Track Properites with the specific Track that was created.

I'm running- Version 3.0.2 Build 2012-07-07 on Ubuntu 12.04
