AIS type-8 message plugin development

I looking for someone who accept job to write a plugin for opencpn.
Goal is to decode AIS message 8, and show the information in a window (similar to the dash bord window).

What exactly kind of type 8 messages? The meteorogical ones are already implemented for the next release.

Ok. Great news. Exactly, I was looking for Hydro-Met data.
Is there any release date, yet? Is is possible to keep AIS window open for selected object, met station, or even vessel, to keep it in one individual window for better monitoring.

Nightly builds are always available from https://cloudsmith.io/~david-registe...able/packages/ (and pretty safe to use in the current state, but that may change in time if we implement some more disturbing changes).
AIS target query window does stay open until you close it, if that is what you are asking. How it actually looks you can see at https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/i...ent-1798563986

Next official release will tentatively happen as usually at the beginning of the northern hemisphere sailing season. If it is ready by then.
