Dufour 24 Keel Bolts

Hello:

We are thinking of buying a Dufour 24 for use on a local lake. The boat has apparently been in fresh water for its whole existance.

A cursory look at the under the cabin floor reveals an impressive moulding which presumably corresponds in shape to the keel cross section beneath.

There weren't any obvious keel bolts showing. Does anyone have experience of this model? Are the bolts glassed in - I assume there must be some? perhaps I simply did not look closely enough.

Hi,

I have noticed over my time working that some boats have a cassette keel, where the keel is actually hollow then filled with ballast (lead shot or lead block etc) then resin poured into the cassette to seal in the ballast and glassed over to strengthen it all up.

This could be what your looking at, I don't imagine that the builder would have buried the bolts but I could be completely wrong as well.

Any chance of loading up a photo?
