I finally got my M802 reinstalled and the rig is working great. No noise, good signal reports, great comms.

I have also a Pactor II-USB with the Pactor III upgrade.

All of this gear works as it should, aside from some interference with some of my other gear, which I'm working on.

I'm getting GRIBs and various materials from Saildocs without problem, but! I had fogotten about the third party traffic fiasco for U.S. call signs, which mine is

One of the main purposes of this setup was supposed to be to do some non-business emails like I used to do with the Iridium Go!.

So this sucks and it looks like I will have to have a Go! anyway. So the M802 won't be used for much other than the odd amateur chatter, nets, Saildocs, maybe some navtex and wefax.

Or is there another solution? I don't like Sailmail as it is equally expensive to Iridium (3 months of unlimited data vs. 12 month minimum subscription, with severe limitations on connection time). Maybe get an amateur license in Finland, which is not subject to these silly limitations? Anyone else faced this?

Sailmail is usd$275 per year. IridiumGo unlimited is usd$140 a month or $420 for your needed 3 months,
Have you ever had an issue with the connection time limits in Sailmail? I've used offshore for years and never had any issue with their pretty soft limit.
Also, don't forget that the free Saildocs you use is provided by and paid for by Sailmail.
