TP-Link EAP225 and Similar to replace Ubiquiti

I am looking at this to replace my old Ubiquiti Bullet:

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Dualband-...dp_ob_title_ce

There's no reference in the materials about "bridge mode", which was the mode I always set the Bullet to, to make it connect to wifi access point so that I can get the data via Ethernet.

Can these devices be used for this purpose, or only as an access point themselves?

Anyone try?

Re: TP-Link EAP225 and Similar to replace Ubiquiti

I've never used a TP-Link EAP225 but since you haven't had a response in a couple of days I believe this link addresses your question.

https://community.tp-link.com/en/bus...m/topic/157059

The important setting on a Bullet is the "Wireless mode" on the Wireless tab. When this a set to "station" the Bullet will act as a client device or CPE. On the Network tab you can set the "Network Mode" to Bridge or Router. Setting the Bullet to Bridge makes moving to another AP a pain. If you set the Bullet as a router you can give it a static IP and leave your computer ethernet to get its IP, Gateway and DNS automatically from whatever AP you connect to.

Thanks! I guess I need to stick with the Bullet.

Mikrotik's Groove gets decent marks for use as a client-wifi bridge. You generally put it on the WAN side of your on-board router, then use the web page in it or their router app to scan and connect to a shore WiFi network.
