Grundig YB400 SSB Receiver for Weather Fax

I have a Grundig YB400 SSB receiver. Coverage includes long wave (144 - 353 kHz), AM band to 1710 kHz and shortwave from 1711 to 30000 kHz. With a good antenna, do you know if this radio would be able to receive weather fax transmissions? The idea would be to output the signal from the receiver to a Mac laptop that has software for decoding the weather fax signal and displaying the maps.

Thanks.

It should work fine.
You just need line from the audio jack to the mic jack on your laptop. And an external antenna would be best.

I'm not sure what software to use for the mac... I tried a few out on windows and decided I liked JVComm32 the best.

You can find weather fax channels here. Marine Radiofax charts

Apologies for hijacking the thread (sort of). I've been planning for a while to pick up one of the NASA marine ssb receivers and only recently became away of the various little radios available for much less $$. Is there any advantage to the comparatively expensive NASA device?

Just to clarify - I mean the little radios like the Degen 1103 and the yachtboy mentioned above.

I have used the Yachtboy and jvcomm on a pc for weather faxes. It works pretty good but not as well as a stable, sensitive HF tranceiver.
