Garmin 4208 up/dn left right control

My Garmin 4208 up/dn left right control is malfunctioning causing the chart pointer to scroll right intermittently. Any wisdom on repairing this control

If it's a membrane pad like a lot of electronic stuff these days, I'd look for either mechanical damage to the rubber pad itself or salt intrusion to that particular part or both.


Disassemble the pad if possible.
You will probably be able to see what it is and say, "Well no wonder it doesn't work !"
