Manual: ftp://software.simrad-yachting.com/d...-12097-004.pdf

See page 23. Long press MENU button. Select DSC SETUP. Select USER MMSI. Select >. You should have the opportunity to enter your MMSI number.

Follow instructions for desired change.

Should work with:
Lowrance LVR 880/Link8
Simrad RS35
B&G V50

I can confirm that this works on Lowrance LVR 880 VHF
This also worked on a Lowrance Link-5. Thank you!

Just FYI, I could not get this sequence to work with the B&G V60.

After lots of searching for a solution that would allow me to reset myself and failed attempts, I gave up on the V60 as well as the B&G NAIS 500 and sent both back to Navico for reset.

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Any way to reset the MMSI on a Garmin 200 VHF other than send it overseas for a reset? John in South Africa.

This procedure unfortunately doesn't work for the SIMRAD RS90 (B&G V90) radio. Does anyone know a way to reset the MMSI on this unit?

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Hello, We have just purchased a boat with a Raymarine Ray55 Radio. I can not find anyone to reprogram the new MMSI I got from the FCC. Raymarine suggested someone in Key Largo. But they really didn't want the job. Raymarine themselves brushed me off and said that they didn't have the "dongle" anymore. I said but your the manufacturer. They said buy a new radio. I would like to program it myself. It can be rocket science. Can someone else out there help us.
Thanks
Tom

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

CAMINO : the proposed procedure does not work.
Because the code (2367) is dependant of the previously stored MMSI. You have to send a request to : sales@alltekmarine.com or/and service@alltekmarine.com (don't forget to mention the presently programmed MMSI number) and they will answer with the correct code. They are in Honk Kong, for the time shift.
For me, it was less than 24h answer.
That's a pretty good customer service.

Hello

I am in the same situation. Were you able to solve it?

Thanks

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

In France there is a law against that.

<< Programmed obsolescence is now defined and punished by articles L441-2 and L454-6 of the Consumer Code, which state that :

The programmed obsolescence is defined by the set of techniques by which the marketer of a product aims to deliberately reduce its life span to increase the replacement rate.

This offence is punishable by two years imprisonment and a fine of 300 000 €. The amount of the fine may be increased, in proportion to the benefits derived from the breach, to 5% of the average annual turnover, calculated on the last three annual turnovers known on the date of the facts.>>
(Translated with www.DeepL.com).

Equivalent laws in your country ?

Just used the same version with success. It's an official tool, it should work... You have the docs and followed them ?

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Any info on reprogramming Vesper XB 6000/8000 AIS units? Vesper has an article about it here, that indicates that Vesper tech support can do it remotely - presumably by sending the customer a utility program to make the change via a laptop. Wondering if anyone can confirm what that experience and mechanism is - and any other details that may enable DIY MMSI reprogram of these units. Thanks!

As you'll note in the article, you have to certify to them that you are outside the US. US law prohibits the end user from changing the MMSI in an AIS (47 CFR 80.231).

If you are outside the US you open a support ticket with them online, provide the model, serial number, and current MMSI and they will generate a reset code and send it to you. Inside the US you have to get a certified dealer/installer to the boat or take the unit to them.

We did this with our Watchmate while outside the US. Easy, quick, straightforward. Much more pleasant experience than our Icom radio.
