Displays for furuno DRS4D radar

Hi there,

My recently acquired boat came with an old furuno MFD that was so dark it was barely visible, and beyond repair so I've decommissioned it in favor of a tablet and a maretron dsm410.

The only problem is that with this change I can no longer use my DRS4D radar (before the change it wasn't much use anyway), so I'm wondering what options I have to bring that radar back to life that won't cost me an arm and a leg. I know opencpn doesn't support it, so I thought of a freestanding radar display, but I'm afraid only furuno displays would be able to talk to it. Is that correct?

Does anybody know of any other options to bring this radar back to life?

My 40 year old Furuno radar gave up the ghost down in La Paz. I located a replacement head for $65.00 . It got us up to Long Beach O.K. After the trip to much fiddling with the settings made it quit working altogether. I read the last line in the instruction book and it said to return to factory setting push 2 buttons. (I forget which ones) and it worked. Works fine now. Furuno in Seattle will test for $100.00 then fix for additional fee. Good luck with it.
