I have the XP 5400, and, indeed, it is supposed to read open. I was mistaken. It's good to have cleared this up.

Thanks Bill and Others. I will do the swr test. very happy with four miles as opposed to the 50 meters I was getting from the old system. I see you you have a Bob Perry sloop. i spent alot of time on Shakti, a 45 footer. Solid and fast.
