Chart Software Choices For B&G

I am deciding on which charting software to load into my B&G chartplotter.
CMAP or Navionics?
I appreciate any feedback from owners who've used either charting software.
We're going the intercoastal and then on to the Caribbean, after that into the South Pacific.
All opinions are appreciated.

Hi, we have been cruising full time for just over six years mostly in the South Pacific. We have C-Map on the laptop for Coastal Explorer and Navionics on the B&G chartplotter on the helm. Neither has been overall better than the other. Sometimes one is better than the other in one specific area but I would not say that one is overall superior.


I would also caution you that in much of the South Pacific off the main routes there are datum error and reefs not shown. We also extensively use satellite imagery as another source of information. All of these are just tools and they do not replace the Mk1 eyeball with someone on the bow or up the rig in higher risk areas. Cmap presentation is garbage. Whoever is running their UX layer is a moron. Navionics is superior. That said I cannot comment on the accuracy of their data.
