And another thing. Please get rid of the obvious blovaitor's The Mother F@#ker$ who start threads just to say some obvious BS that they think makes them look important or smart.

Here is a link to www.whatdoyouthinkofthis.com and you should read it all or you are not a REAL Cruiser.

Or if you dont agree with me then you are a noob whose keel will fall off just after the rudder disintegrates from using the obviously underrated thruhulls.

I've never seen a bigger bunch of internet geniuses in my life. But more than likely a bunch of fat old guys getting pickled on gin in a broken down boat that never leaves the marina.

But hey if you arent in a (name of My boat) then you are an idiot.

Re: Ridiculous posts

I'm getting a little frustrated by the many recent calls to control what, or how, others can post here. Seriously Saltybum, if you're that perturbed, don't read those threads. It's quite easy to not do something.

BTW, I didn't even know there was a Forum Newsletter. Maybe unsubscribe if it annoys you this much.

Re: Ridiculous posts

Saltybum,

Mike's right, you can unsubscribe from notifications. It may change how you interact with the forum. I mostly just look at New Posts, and have automatic subscribe to threads I respond to. That combination works okay for me. Also, at the top of the screen there is Thread Tools, and you can use it to subscribe to threads on a case by case basis, including ones to which you have not posted.

Be well. This is the toughest Christmas season I've ever had, and somehow, I suspect I am not alone, and there must be a lot of us just putting one foot in front of the other, carrying on.

Ann

Re: Ridiculous posts

Who among us did not have a limited, or even stupid understanding of sailing, once upon a time? Guilty here!

And yeah, in the age of instant gratification, not everyone is going to do the reading. They didn't in the good old days either, from what I remember.

Re: Ridiculous posts

Still at least for the time being we in the US live in a capitalist economy. There we vote with our time and money. SO...

If you want to change how CF works then drop your membership in CF. If enough folks disagree with the way CF is run and no longer visit it then it will shrink and either cease to exist or change how it works to attract more users.

There are a few moderated BBS out there where there is less BS and actually less of everything.

Speaking of voting with your money I thought I would just share that I voted with my money - I bought a GUN, a new anchor, a catamaran and a politician. (what did I leave off? Enquiring minds want to know)

wow! Now you are fully equipped to take the politician out for a sail, shoot him, attach the anchor and chuck the body overboard... easily done from teh stable platform of a catamaran! What's not to like?
