Careful, AGM's can and do vent. Sometimes hydrogen, sometimes hydrogen sulphide - both potentially explosive....

Venting is usually linked to some kind of fault, such as a cell with an internal short, or a battery charger trying to equalise.....

Yes, the area is very well vented, but with limited headroom so it would be impossible to top up with water as you do with flooded LA's
