Dyneema UV Protection

Has anyone got any idea what I can coat unsheathed Dyneema in to stop or reduce UV degradation ?

Re: Dyneema UV Protection

Multihullnets.com sells Dyneema netting, coloured black. I don't know what they use to colour it, but perhaps they'd tell you. They might sell you something, or put you in touch with their suppliers.

Good luck.
Cheers.
Paul.

Dyneema really doesn't need sun protection. People use raw uncovered Dyneema as standing rigging.

Re: Dyneema UV Protection

Dyneema degrades under UV light. You can buy and use ‘treated’ Dyneema that is more resistant to the degradation. The treatment is a solution and it’s that solution that I am looking for. I have been told it’s water based Urathane but I cannot find it online.

I guess I need to do some testing....

Re: Dyneema UV Protection

Marlow D12 max has a UV and chafe resistant coating. Very tough stuff.
