Disabled Sailor needs help

Hi Friends, Due to recent health setbacks my plans have been put on hold until next season to travel to Panama Canal in my 32' Columbia, restored to seaworthy condition. 3 yrs in the making and had sea trails here in West Palm Beach at Lake Worth Inlet offshore. I now need a dock slip in West Palm or Lauderdale for the boat and I as a liveaboard to continue to recuperate on oxygen thereapy. I like power and inter net and cable TV. I am 55 ex- Coast Guard, ex- licensed Tug Captain, ex-hippie well still a Happy, Intelligent,Person, Pursuing, Infinite, Enlightenment. I can pay 300.00 per month, am quite as a mouse in house. And will do building chores such as carpentry, boat stuff for a small fee. PLease contact if you wish an opportunity to help, give or tithe. Peace be with you and Best Regards to the Community I have enjoyed now for over three years,,,,,,/),,,,,,

Hi Woody,

Have you tried Craigslist? I checked craigslist for south FL, search term just "slip" under category "boats", checked the option "title" instead of "entire post" and found dozens of slips. A little further south than you asked but found one 33' long on the Miami River for $300/month.

Re: Disabled Sailor needs help

Hey Skipmac, Thanks and yes I am activly searching.... the best thing tonight was to save pages of yellow pages of Delray, Boyton, Lantana and Boca areas and also calling marinas in Stuart to stay in the West Palm Va. system because they treat me very well. It seems to be going well, I will find a place and after sacrificing so much even my health for three years to restore this boat to be a cruising sailor I can now rest and recuperate for a minute! A couple more projects can get done and I need a smart phone to "get with the times" and a good sterero system for the boat the Pioneer SK-SP22BS speakers is said to be the Bomb! for less than 500.00 being an audiophile I sooth the beast in me with music. It is gonna be fine while I was in the hospital I had them check my attitude and it was broke but now I feel it changing for the better,,,,,,,,,/),,,,,,,,peace

Hey Woody,

Glad to hear they were able to repair your attitude. Start with a good attitude and everything else falls into place.

Good luck finding a place to dock. Main problem in south FL is one that allows liveaboard and is cheap.
