Basically they check out your boat regularly and wash her down once a week to keep the bird **** to a minimum... round 100+ euro/month...
Plus side for setting up in an established market is that already a need - then it's simply a case of how to deal with the competition.

No... thats a Carter 30 we got in the Med in the 90's after selling our Westerly Longbow to a marina walker from Andorra for £5K more than we paid... cash on the nail... and he let us live on it till we found the replacement...
Did not like the Carter as much...

Re: Business Ideas - Boating / Cruising / Yachting?

I'm an attorney and my idea would be to help people draft some basic legal paperwork. Use skype for phone conferences and PDF things to them through e-mail. The problem is there are some really well established paralegal companies that do the same thing I would be competing with. For $50k you could get a paralegal education and with 1-2 years of experience could do basic paperwork for people.

Basic divorce paperwork takes me about 30 minutes to do with no kids, 45-60 minutes with kids if I have received the right documentation, plus maybe 45 minutes answering questions on the phone with potential clients for each client I get. Most companies seem to offer $135 divorce with no kids, $165 divorce with kids. Offering a 10% price match guarantee would put you at 120 with no kids, 150 with kids. I could survive on a boat with 10 clients/month making 1,200-1,500 which would probably entail 15-20 hours of work. Would be much more comfortable doing 20, but not sure how much volume is possible....and then there's the added cost of advertising/web development/SEO the more clients you want.

Anyways...maybe a pipe dream but seems more solid to me than some other ideas I've seen and extremely portable.
