I was talking about removing "land ties", expense such as slip rental, mini storage, internet, etc and *keeping* health insurance , mail box w/re-mailing, food and phone (with drastically reduced prepaid service), etc.. Land ties constitute 50-60% of my income + 20% for the refit costs = money to spend on cruising costs.

A lot can be saved by bunkering in cheaper locations, I have save plenty by using bulk stores like cosco etc

Never had insurance , never paid for towing service, don't have a phone , use libraries for free internet, never owned a TV, do my own maintenace for under $50 a year, diesel for my 20 hp is around $15 a month, sail whenever possible , hunt and fish or food and buy bulk. Drastically cuts costs.
