"affordable" multihull insurance

Hey guys,

I am struggling a little bit to track down affordable multihull insurance...I'm actually just struggling to get quotes from insurers. I've filled out five online forms over the last week and have heard back from one insurer. What's with that?!

I was initially investigating 6 pack charter boat insurance because I am thinking of running a business off of this boat six months out of the year and cruising it the other six. They want to charge me $4200 annually which seems pretty reasonable for $1,000,000 in liability etc.

After not hearing back from anyone else I bit the bullet and called Boat US/Geico. $4,900 for private ownership insurance!!!! More than if I want to charter it!! What gives?!

Any recommendations?

I wish my business insurance only cost $500/year.

I get it. I’m just confused by it being more expensive than charter insurance. the guy i talked to at Boat US said they don’t specialize in cat insurance which is why it was so expensive.
