Goofiest boat show products that you like

They seem to be a vanishing breed, but I love the small vendors you run into at the boat show that have created a whacky product that they will tell you is the absolutely must-have thing you need, and is better than anything that has come before! And, they won't stop telling you...But, sometimes these whacky things are actually useful tools that you take a chance on and end up loving. A couple I have purchased and love include a big silicone squeegy that I use to clean off salt spray from my pilothouse windows while underway, those rollup yellow shammys that mop up water from your cockpit seats or wherever, stainless steel wine goblets that never break, a folding granny cart for getting groceries with cloth sides to hold everything in, a round chart plotter that allows you to set the magnetic variation (like a big moveable compass rose), the Screwpull corkscrew for opening your wine, and of course my first Tilley hat from long ago before anyone knew what they were.

OTOH, I was working a booth next to a guy selling various odd shapes of foam rubber that were designed to keep your bowls and plates level on a heeling sailboat. You could get different angles to compensate for different degrees of heeling. I passed on those!

The best thing I found at a boat show was "Gripstic", a bag closer that is 10x better than any other bag closer (like "bag clips") that I have found. It makes an effectively air-tight seal. They are now available on Amazon, too.
