Suriname

Does anybody have any recent cruising experience with Suriname? I'm getting a lot of conflicting info about this nation. Looks like the noonsite is positive about them but CIA - The World Factbook is not . I would appreciate any personal experience from a cruiser point of view.

Re: Suriname

I know that Dutch sailors love Suriname and think that CIA has a political agenda behind everything they state. I see no reason not to go there except the political one (a drugs baron / dictator / murderer was elected president... small detail :-) This just means that it's not much different than most other countries in the region.

cheers,
Nick.
