OziExplorer

Hi, Just tried this navigation program. I especially like the fact it could use both BSB charts and Maptech charts.

I tried it both on my PC running XP and on Linux Ubuntu running on my XO OLPC. It worked well on the PC but would die loading MapTech PCX charts on the XO.

The current version doesn't support AIS but they have a development version that does. They have a pretty neat way to show CPA. I attached a picture of it.

Has anyone else tried it?

I got around the problem of it dying when I tried to load a Maptech PCX chart on Ubuntu Linux by creating a swap file. This is documeted at:

Ozie Lots of capabilities

Ozie does more than most nav programs. It takes some work to master it
however I think it displays older electronic charts better than anything else. I also like how it would scan your database as you are voyaging and if entering a harbor it would bring up a good harbor chart with a lot of detail.
