The new version adds a decent map interface and a newer tide modle. At this point I find it predicts very close to the NOAA station prediction near my house. It's in agreement within 1/10th of a foot most all the time. Variations due to wind are more than that so you really can't beat it. It is a world wide data base. With several display options.

You display time in any time zone you like, "local time", or it will work with your system clock as well to provide ship time based on your current system time zone setting. Nothing worse than getting the right tide for the wrong time.

For a totally math driven tide forecaster I would say it is as good if not better than any of the other products you can buy. The lacking feature is currents - none at all.

And for us Mac guys...

http://homepage.mac.com/augusth/MrTides/index.html

It integrates with GPSNavX and MacENC to allow tide along with chartplotting off of NOAA's free ENC files.
