I am reminded of another who was almost equally as unsuited. JFK Jr. His Total flight time was composed of a high percentage of "dual instruction", where he makes a flight with a certified flight instructor onboard. His flight time showed an atypical low amount of solo flight. So while one may log pilot in command, they do so whilst knowing the instuctor will bail them out if they get too far into a corner.
In this manner was the condition created that when he finally did fly solo, he was unprepared. He flew into a 'black hole' and with the added stress of being late for a
family event and a crabby passenger. No doubt he was trying to convince himself he was prepared. Witness testimony from past flight instructors and friends support that contention. All that was to be done was to arrive at the
accident scene which he did in grand style and he took two passengers with him. The aviation world despises him for that.
This, is spite of his many hours of instuction. Whether sail or flight, it is vitally important to leave the nest as it were. Go on your own and put that
head knowledge to use. Transfer rote to correlative.
The only reason I say he was "almost unequally as unsuited" is because his aircraft was in very good condition whereas PANDA was a leaky tub.
