Maybe we SHOULD Always Engine Test an Anchor Set.

Yes, anchors can get snagged on fragile coral, and what comes up can surprise you.

Whether backing down would have prevented that or caused it is a different issue, as it may take repeated jerks on the coral to break it loose. However, some bottom fouling things, like coils of cable, or cast off steel sinks, those will sometimes pull along the bottom, alerting you.

We are in the always back down group of anchorers.

Ann that wasnt coral, it was a boat with twin outboards!
