Coastal Mooring
Sailing from Venice,Fla to Key West. Need advice on anchoring in the gulf rather than in the ICW.

Howdy.

Some Simple Suggestions:

1. Buy a hard copy Coastal Cruising Guide for that area.

2. Use Active Captain software for additional local knowledge that is shared.

3. Have good ground tackle and be prepared.
