Walker Bay Genesis

Dies anyone have updated experience about the WalkerBay Genesis. I'm about to pull the trigger on a new dinghy (replacing Avon 3.1 RIB). How are they holding up? How dry are they?

I'm also intrigued by the new console for the WalkerBay that was displayed at Annapolis. After all these years, sitting on a real seat and facing forward seems like cheating - but I felt the same way about the bow thruster at first. It would be a big hit with the missus.

I have one and I'd say it's a good dink. My only criticism are the inbuilt wheels - completely useless on anything other than a paved slipway. You'll need a set of proper beach wheels to pull her up on the beach.

Ours is now 2 years old an there is nothing wrong with her.

Good report here

I like my 2006 model. With a 9.8 horse Tohatsu it flies like you wouldn't beleive.

Upsides : Hull is almost indestructable, seat has great storage inside for lights, flares, engine spares etc.

Downsides: reasonably heavy compared with an airdeck dink, light coloured tubes look grubby quickly.
