Great hack - all around anchor light

About 30 years ago Mom moved alone to a north Michigan lake. She liked to put around on a small pontoon boat. We bought a Brite Buoy remote activated light to find home in the dark. The light was never bright enough to find until you were on it and the remote range was too short. Flopping on waves was too much for the plastic shafts, broken after a season. Other than that, a wonderful thing.

The boss asks why I never throw anything out. The standard light pole on the Jon Boat lost its diffuser, UV turned it to dust. No replacement available, $50 minimum to replace plus rewiring.

Tossed the tiny IR receiver built in below the Brite Buoy fresnel lens and fitted the housing to the boat stalk. Some drilling and grinding required. New LED bulb. JB glue seals the base to the stalk. Light is centered in the fresnel.

High vis in daylight. Web search shows other packrats have these parts to sell. I can guarantee the electronics are toast.
