Dinghy on foredeck covering windlass?

I wonder if you could fit the windlass out to one side, clear of the dink. Sort of like some of the dashew boats do.

You could also take the chain further aft at the same time.

As far as the access from the Fwd hatch goes. With a bit of thinking you might be able to set up the dingy lashings so that they can be cut from inside by reaching out the slightly open hatch with a knife.

Then the dingy can be lifted enough so you can squeeze out. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

There are some pretty low slung electric windlass's out there.. with the chain feeding maybe 6in above deck level.. at the drum..
Fit a wooden block maybe 8in high either side of the chain run to seat the bow of the dinghy with small cleats for tying down.
Lead your windlass control back to the cockpit.. always useful if for some reason only one is mobile..

On some vessel designs, you can lead the chain pretty much back to in front of, or along side, the front corner of the coach house. Which definitely does this suggested trick.
Such layout options are something to consider when deciding on which design to buy in the first place.

On the latter quandry. There's always the option of setting things up so that the lashing points for the dinghy are, or are controlled by, a couple of snap shackles. Which have lanyards attached to their release points, leading to a rope which is easy to pull from a partially cracked open fore hatch.

Have you ever thought of a nesting dinghy? They are made of 2 halves that fit into another. Plenty of spare room on the foredeck with one of these!

I too am facing the same problem on my CS 30 with a short fore deck...I installed a windless and would have a difficult time getting too it if the dinghy was stored on it...the suggestion to use the halyard to raise and store makes good sense. I did install a remote at the helm for the windless but never the less there are moment when u need to go forward especially single handed and with a very narrow deck and short fore deck could get tricky
