Carib Marine dinghy quality

Hi,
I am desperately looking for opinions on the Carib Marine dinghies as I am considering buying one. Please note: I am asking about the Carib Marine brand which is sold by Budgetmarine, not the Caribe dinghies.
Thanks!

Phenomenal. I have a 2011 that is still going strong.

Re: Carib Marine dinghy quality

Glad you clarified. I was just about to jump in to my response and halted mid keystroke on the second sentence.

I would triple check anyone's response =). And what an unfortunate name that's so close to a major brand...

I don't have direct experience, but I do see that it looks like their aluminum ribs are using the same rubrail as the highfields. That rubrail does seem to make for a dryer boat (although not as much as I've heard claimed...). But, at least on the high field, it is very soft. We almost wrecked ours without realizing by just slightly chafing it on our dinghy davit.

If you're interested, we made a post about all of the dinghies we evaluated (with price at the time and other stats).

Just to make sure: are you talking about the Caribe dinghy, or the Carib Marine dinghy that is sold by Budgetmarine?

Re: Carib Marine dinghy quality

With RIBS you only get what you pay for. If this is a lot cheaper than the original Caribe Brand or an AB or Highfield etc there is a good chance it will not last as long. For example an AB is made with 820 Orca Hypalon and the Carib Marine is the lighter 215 Hypalon which is 20% lesser weight/m2
