Seizing/Splicing Perth Australia

Hi all

I have just joined. Before replying to this post it's important that you also read my profile!

My rigging needs replacing. I want the traditional look of dead-eyes n lanyards, seizing and splicing, but I would also like to learn the art of making/repairing own... So I have just started reading "The Rigging Handbook" by Brian Toss (which also includes "The Riggers Apprentice" and "The Riggers Locker"). He is a brilliant writer, humorous, and so far I love his approach. I am really keen to get stuck into this book, and all his others... But it is all so new, time is short and I don't learn particularly well from books... So I'd be happy to pay someone to do the job if they'll teach me along the way... And I'll consider bringing the boat to you, if you are not too far from Perth

Also, I lost a stay the other day. The wire isn't broken, but not having seen it from above deck level that is about all I know. No idea how it was attached to the mast. No idea if something slipped out or if something is broken. And I really should start getting up there and getting familiar with the top of the rig and the climbing process... I have a bosun's chair but would like to borrow a harness and a helper, please.

Any help much appreciated

Thanx
Andrew
