Securing Spinnaker Pole

My pole is currently secured via rope to base of stbd staunchions. I'm looking into mounting arrangements for front of mast (sliding track), and also deck brackets - but I'm curious about other methods and locations?
I don't like the staunchion idea.

On our 30 foot cruiser/racer, we use chocks mounted on the deck. A pocket close to the toe rail near were the chain plate attaches to the shrouds on the port side and ring type chock near were the aft most stanchion of bow pulpit attaches to the deck.

Always put one end of the pole into the pocket first to regain control of the pole. Then worry about locking to the ring.

Our pole is beefy as the 30 foot boat is an IOR style and is powered by a large mast head spinnaker. So the pocket helps keep the pole under control while putting away.

Do you have a baby stay that might get in the way?

We mount ours on the stantions, but at the top so it's not a trip hazard.
