Can you help identify these items?

Gday all.

I found these among a box of goodies the PO left on the boat. They look like they are meant to clamp on to something but i've no idea what they do.

There are also these 4 other items that look to be some kind of pushbutton. Again, no idea what they are for.

Any ideas are very welcome.

Thanks

Joe

Re: Can you help identify these items?

The 2 large chrome plated ones may be deck clamps to mount something with. Perhaps a deck mounted prod? What's the inside diameter of them? Once you know that, then you/we can guess at what they're meant to hold. Did/does the boat have other hardware for a spinnaker, so that these might be for a deck mounted sprit?

Re: Can you help identify these items?

Thanks for your input.

Re: Can you help identify these items?

Did you mean stanchions? If so, they are the usual size...around 1.5in at the base tapering to around an inch.

That flat plate held on by the 4 socket head screws is a puzzler...

Wind vane transom mounts, but not usually chrome plated.

I was going to guess wind gen pole mount, for attachment to the stantions......but they seem to be chrome.

As for the red dot things, those are cheapo automotive indicator lights......

I don't believe I'd use anything there unless the clamps are chrome bronze.

Re: Can you help identify these items?

Thanks again.

Theyre made from aluminium. The plating has peeled off in spots and theyre blistering from corrosion.

Ive asked a few boys down at the marina and all i got were shrugged shoulders

I guess theyre going back where i found them.

Thanks.

Joe

Re: Can you help identify these items?

I believe the "buttons" are terminal posts. If pressing down the end lines up the hole in the moving sleeve with a hole in the post (so that one could push a wire through), then the black and red bushings are insulators (parts may be missing).

If so, they would be wired to a FUSED source of battery voltage, so some accessory or whatnot with flying leads could be connected. I've actually considered installing something similar (but much better insulated) for those times I need to power some bit of equipment temporarily or other for testing.

The Chrome Brackets definitely appear to be mounting brackets. An example would be say, a cleaning station. Wherein the bracket clamps to the stern rail, and the bolts mount the ply or composite shelf station.

The chrome devices with the brass screws in the end are low voltage wiring connectors, very commonly found in audio installations. Compress the connector against the internal spring and the holes align, allowing you to connect the second stage of the circuit to the speaker itself. (The Brass screw would connect the wire coming from the amplifier, for instance.)

They are NOT conducive to high voltage applications!

It would be advisable to only use such for very well regulated circuits, as they're not insulated, thus easily short circuited, quickly popping a fuse or breaker.

Edit: I see Redline already answered this. Good job.

Re: Can you help identify these items?

The smaller items are heavy duty speaker binding posts. I just bought some on line 2 weeks ago. Just toss them they are cheap.

The others just look like rail clamps for mounting things on railing. They might be universal or might be specific to a device.

Re: Can you help identify these items?

The smaller items appear to be electrical stand-offs or extensions of some sort?

The spade connectors with the red and black designations are visible the other end is hard to see.
