Basically, this is what I have. Works fine for me.

Edit.. As was mentioned, you would need to be concerned about the load on a single point.

I would try sailing the boat with the staysail in light air, a strop to a cabin rail, or just holding the sheet in different positions will give you an idea of where you need deck eyes, tracks etc. Usully you need to pull down as well as in or out.....

One block position is only good for one wind angle and one wind speed. You need adjustment just like the headsail for correct sail shape. With two staysail sheets you can put two fore/aft rigged tracks. With a single sheet, a boom with a side to side mounted traveler will get you the adjustment. I like the boom, self tacking for single handing. I use a preventer/vang when I get past the traveler range. Down side is I can't run Genoa staysails. One of the many trade offs in dealing with rigs and boat in general. Your boat your setup. Try to get out on both layouts see which you like.
