Backstay Crane Extension

I have a 2006 Hanse 370 with a Sparcraft mast (deck stepped, 9/10 fractional rig, double spreaders). My new main is getting hung up on the backstay. Visually it looks like the backstay crane (to which the backstay attaches at masthead) comes aft about 6". Has anyone extended that crane an additional 4-6"? That would be sufficient for my main to clear the backstay. Other suggestions?

PS I have raised this question with Sparcraft and awaiting a response.

Your new main has more roach than the previous sail, or have you gone to a square headed main ? Curious as to why this is now a problem. Just askin'.

Bad design of your new sail. Either you or the sailmaker messed up.

You would need to beef up the crane considerably if you are going to double its length.
