Adding Adjustable Backstay

What's the cheapest decent way for me to change my fixed backstay to an adjustable one on a 32' Pearson (approx 10,000 lbs displacement).

Shorten backstay wire rope, install a block and tackle with a 6:1 purchase? Lower block with a cleat. Low stretch rope.

Wot he just sed....
Or what I prefer the 3 block set up... 1 Port, 1 Stbd and the 3rd on the backstay... that way you can add a final tension by wrapping the tail round the 'V' and widening it...
