Not to nitpick, but head has black water, not gray. That said, first thing I would check us the joker valve. Tons of videos online for how to replace. If holding tank is empty then your only source of fluids is the water (fresh or raw) supply to the head or whatever you put into the toilet. Again, if holding tank is empty and there is not a leak of the water supply then it seems to me that you have a backflow issue and the joker valve is the culprit.

What I wanna know is how someone who thinks ‘2004 Lagoon Power 43' Catamaran’ is a useful title for this thread ends up with the means to afford a 43’ catamaran? [emoji23]

The title might be useless, but so is this reply. You took the effort to type 162 characters to criticize rather than help.

Re: 2004 Lagoon Power 43' Catamaran

As stated it's the joker valve. A manual pump uses raw water. I'm going to guess your raw water is saltwater. The salt mixed with uric acid breaks down joker valves fairly quickly. Expect to replace them every few years.

The discharge line fills at the top of the tank. This means that fluid (blackwater) sits in the discharge line between the joker valve and the tank fitting. Without the joker valve, the contents can leak back into the bowl.
