Simple Tranny question

I was wondering what transmission fluid is recommended for a Borg Warner Velvet Drive series 72 is. I assume it's standard automatic fluid but assuming anything can be bad.

Thanks.

Aloha By,
I did a quote out of a couple of my Velvet Drive manuals just a week or two ago. I'll see if I can find it through a search here on the forum.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Here you go!
I don't know about the 72 but this is what it says about the smaller tranny.
From my 70C and 71C (a very early) Service Manual, "The properties of the oil used in the transmission are extremely important to the proper function of the hydraulic system. Therefore, it is extremely important that the recommended oil, Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), Type "A", Suffix "A", be used.
The later manual says, "Dexron, Type F, or any hydraulic fluid which meets the C-3 oil specification is acceptable. Do not mix different brands. If engine doesn't exceed 3,000 R.P.M., a premium grade 30 weight engine oil is acceptale. SAE #40 and multi-viscosity oils are not recommended."
The later manual was published in August 1988.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

I just looked again at the manual and the same applies to the 72 as the 70 and 71 so Dexron ATF it is.
