RYA Competent Crew course near Nice, France?

Hi everyone,

I am planning to do a RYA Competent Crew course near Nice this summer with a friend. We are both beginners but we thought it would be fun to do a course together.

I can only find 1 school in Antibes but I believe they only offer the Day Skipper course. Anyone here know a decent place in the area that offers the Crew course? Nice must be a popular place to learn how to sail, no?!

We are also okay doing the course somewhere else.... but the closer to Nice, the better... Recommendations, anyone?

No RYA Competent Crew course offered

Only Day Skipper course, but I don't think we are qualified for that yet...

How about schools in Palma?

Have you guys heard of -Solaris Mediterranean Sea School?

Yes, non tidal waters are probably a reason why so few RYA top courses on the Med. You have them on Algarve, med climate but tidal waters. Not far from the med.

I took an RYA course in south Brittany. Plenty of tides, which led to limitations in my math.

Hi there, you can do most of the RYA courses on-line! I am just about to re-do my Day Skipper on-line. It's been 18 years since I passed it & due to circumstances I haven't done any sailing for 10 years so need to brush up as I want to get back sailing again. I now live in La Rochelle, France, having lived inland for the past 10 years (hence no sailing!), & I looked for RYA courses but couldn't find anything. You will need to maybe go back to UK for a few days/a week or so to do the practicals however. Otherwise join a local sailing school & learn the French equivalents (if you speak French that it!)

Faro is a bit too far. I am thinking about Palma... There are some schools there.
