What Type of Powerboat For Cruising Around Caribbean

Im going to have a gap year and cruise around the caribbean with partner and son.i will have upto $50k to spend on a powerboat which will be our home for a year.im not fussed about speed but more for the comfort side of things.....35ft plus would be nice. can anyone recommend any boats for this.

A small trawler like a Mainship 34 might work.

From what I have seen, (mega-yachts aside) most motor yachts cruising the islands are trawlers of various sorts. The sport fisherman style would work, too, but most of those that I see are in day-charter service on a particular island.
