Our tax dollars at work...setting us up for licensing and pfd wearing rulemaking IMHO.

Some pretty scarey numbers if you consider 65% of all boaters really have no clue.It bears scrutiny simply because of complaints of poor seamenship.

We have seen in other threads a very quick if not even an angry response to power yachters who are percieved as being less educated for just showing up on a forum board when in fact 65% of those complaining have no experinance.It would appear a huge proportion of all boating segments are the reason for the problems.Most boaters have never taken a single course regarding anything

Obviously it could be said that self regulation by boaters hasnt really worked .....

Gangway for the government who see's an oppourtunity to protect you while taking more of your money.

Look at the stats on driving ...education and liscensing sure made that a lot safer than boating.
