anchoring Punta Tosca (Mag Bay)

Has anyone anchored inside Punta Tosca, south end of Magdalina Bay, Baja? Looking at the charts, it appears to be a good anchorage to avoid the prevailing N/W winds and seas during the fall. One cruising guide indicates it's only good during setteled weather.

Also, while I have your "ear," has anyone found Internet access or cell phone coverage from the Mag Bay area?

Definitely cell coverage (Telcel) in Puerto Magdalena. I can't remember if there was any in Bahia Santa Maria.


Tosca: I met one cruiser who anchored there 1 night to escape winds. No idea what his night was like. There are currents and totally open to any south... and forecasts there are not great.
