Re: Adding distilled water to batteries

Since I bought the temperature sensor attachment for my Xantrex charger, my electrolyte consumption has dropped drastically. I think it was overcharging on hot days. (temperature IS a setting on the charger, but with the sensor it selects automatically).

I use a clear hair dye bottle available from any beauty supply store for about $2. A box of latex gloves comes in handy too. The cheap sailor, might just use a swim mask for eye protection.

Yargh, the cheap sailor has no dive mask, but has one very well used plastic bag for eye and head protection. The hard part is getting one that's old enough so it doesn't have the warning against placing it over one's head.

Hum... Well if that works for you, go for it. Myself, I just try to find multiple uses for an item. Even on GG's monster boat, there is never enough space for everything.

Re: Adding distilled water to batteries

There are some automatic filler systems for flooded lead acid batteries, somebody around here's bound to know the names off-hand.

Great success with a plastic beer cup. I squeeze it a little for a finer flow point. Also have other multiple other uses.

Why have a hydrometer, when one of these is more accurate and does coolant too? Many brands.
