Boat on reef, Hauhine island

We are in the Society Islands on the island of Hauhine. As we came in we saw a monohul on the barrier reef. There were a couple of other boats around to help. There were people on the boat and standing on the reef. This was on 4/2/17.
Has anyone read anything about this incident?

That was helpful.

I suspect the point is that Huahine-Iti & Huahine-Nui collecively have 5 inlets. Are we talking about coming into Faie, Maro-e Bay, Parra, the inlet to Fiti'i or the inlet to Fare?

Re: Boat on reef, Hauhine island

The boat is currently in the Carinage in Raiatea being repaired. The story I heard is that their electronic onboard navigation device failed and owner was trying to get his ipad up and running. The vessel was transiting close to the reef at the time. Again this is second hand info. Crew is now looking for another ride west.

Safe sailing
