Re: Annapolis Boat Show 2023

I think you should figure out what you’re going to use this boat for, rather than what’s for sale. I agree with Kettlewell, don’t buy a watermaker unless you’re planning for crossing an ocean, or many months in the islands where you’d get payback on your $4 K investment, you’re better buying local water and filtering it well.

Most sailboats I’ve seen could use newer sails, as that makes the fastest, least expensive improvement in speed and enjoyment. Sails are not really a boat show thing, but Bacon Sails is in Annapolis as well. I could spend many happy hours digging through the used bins of Bacon’s!

Mack Sails (good friends of ours) are also always at the Annapolis show.
Go and see Travis for a quote for sure.

Plans are to turn the City Dock area into a park. I wonder what that means for the boat shows? https://www.capitalgazette.com/maryl...otm-story.html

I have found this to be true. I got a 40% off on a drysuit once, because once at the show they have to consider it a demo. That was ~ 12 years ago, and it's still good. I've worn it more than 100 times, a few just in the last two weeks.

The other advantage of shopping clothes/gloves/shoes at a show rather than on-line is that you can try them on, and fit matters.
