Third-Party Insurance in Australia

We are currently Overseas and bring the boat back home. As all marinas now want Marine Insurance third party We need to get it in place for when we arrive home.
Has anybody had experience with this type of insurance In Australia? Any company recommendation or otherwisw would be appreciated.
Regards

Rossmonty, I will have to cross this bridge soon and while I can't offer hands on advice, my mate used to have marine third party cover on his 30 something timber yacht. He just used the same company that he had house and contents and car insured through.

His comment was that most of the run of the mill insurers would provide 3rd party cover along with "wreck removal from navigational waterways" or some such.

hi Rossmonty. A copy of a letter I have from Insurance council of Australia indicates that 3rd party is not viable for insurance companise to provide, as it also has to include salvage and pollution cleanup. Club Marine and Nautilus no longer provide 3rd party so I would imagine this could be a blanket situation for all insurance companies, for boats that live on the water. I think you are stuck with comprehensive insurance only now.

Hi Rossmonty
I carry third party which meets the new queensland 10 million pollution and salvage cover,It is through Suncorp $300 I think.
I know the rules state that you only need the ten million if you are over 15 metres but I got slamed with it any way (thanks to the idiot polies in Bris).
Any how it covers me ,You cannot legaly dock in this state anymore with out some insurance.
Regards John
