Yes it has ham/open mode, although I have not used it. If you do a web search "ham/open ICOM m802" you will find setup instruction. Like - Icom M-802 Programming Instructions

I have an ICOM 710 RT with AT-130 automatic antenna tuner for sale. It is currently in Wichita KS. I will take it to Rockport TX with me this winter, where I hope to meet with a buyer and demonstrate that it works ok before making a sale. $1000. The previous owner told me it is open for HAM frequencies. I have not verified that. I have used a 50 ohm dummy load, frequency counter, and an SWR/WATT meter to prove it transmits. The catch is that I want the buyer to see that it works before making a purchase. An alternative might be for a buyer to hire a local radio shop to check it out. It is listed in the Corpus Christi craigslist. - Chris
