Sailboat transportation

Any advice on the cost of land shipping a 36 ft Sailboat from Astoria Washington to San Francisco or south. Any recommendations for shippers.

Re: Sailboat transportation

Transport of boats is a good topic. Here are some previous threads in the archives.

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately my search got the same results. As I don't have a motor bike to ship or need a ship to transport my boat in the Caribbean the sight is a little thin. Also the links very dated.

So I thought maybe a new topic was in order. :-)

Re: Sailboat transportation

Try looking at these threads.

I know several mention transporting a boat from Seattle (often to San Francisco, San Diego, or La Paz Mexico).

Could do but we are live aboards and we left the rain and damp of BC for sunnier places. So as nice as the folks are in Westport Wash, it is not the best place to get stuck and our Canadian Paso's make a 5 month stay seem less than great. We unfortunately had our Volvo die and require a 3 week wait for parts to be manufactured. (no longer make stuff for old Volvos}

PS Will try not to let the bar stewards get me down but seem to have Murphy perched on my shoulders at the moment
