I'm looking for a Lagoon 440, 420 or 400. Prefer the 440, but mast height may be an issue. Must not need a lot of work. Prefer the 4 cabin versions. Prefer non-charter. Price range is about $300K to $325K. Resident of South Carolina. Would consider Fountaine Pajot or Leopard for the right price, but preference is Lagoon.

Hi -- we have an Orana 440, 2008, getting ready for sale this fall, fully fitted for blue water, completed circumnavigation in 2012. Owners version with a/c, washing machine, solar, wind, genset, freezer, water maker, ham radio, etc.

What issue will you have with mast height? If it's the ICW, then all of the above will have issues with bridges. I have had clients shorten the mast on a Lagoon 420 and recut the sail to make the boat ICW friendly. Worked well for them....

Well, if you want to start your circumnavigation from "down under", this is the message I have just sent to "Vertigo", who is also on the market for a Lagoon 440:

We have just decided to stop our circumnavigation, after 3 1/2 years: our eldest will soon turn 15 and wants to go to school. Until last week our plans were still to sail to Thailand, and end our trip in SE Asia at the end of 2016, after spending the upcoming cyclone season in Sydney. We are in Niue, near Tonga, and should be in New Caledonia from mid-October till mid-November. We have not signed up with a broker yet.

Our 2007 L440 is a 4-cabin, 12-berth version that comes with 2 x 6-person life rafts, a 3-year old 3.1m aluminum bottom dinghy, a 2-year old 15HP Yamaha outboard, a 1500W generator, a washing machine, a sea kayak, a folding bicycle, tools, kitchenware, linen, tools, spare parts, etc. In July we hauled out for two weeks. Beyond new anti fouling paint, we did the "8-year checkup": rigging, rudders (new rings), sail drives (clutch maintenance, new rubber flange seals: they should be changed every 7 years according to Yanmar), engines (new engine mounts, new alternators, new brushes for the starters, new impellers, new belts, etc). You could just get on board with your bags and sail away...

Our asking price is 250000 €. Just a year ago I would not have replied to a low offer like yours, but the € has lost 20% against the $, so the gap is much less today. Also, we are now under pressure to sell quickly. If you are interested please pm me or email: danyaf@yahoo.com
