Cost of New Mast and Rigging?

My friend had mentioned that his buddies boat was dismasted awhile back so that got us talking about prices. I was wondering if there was some type of basic formula that the CF members could devise that would ballpark this. I realize that things get more expensive as the boat size increases so this formula would not be linear.
Here are the parameters.
New aluminum non rotating mast, spreaders, boom and all standing rigging for a cat. We'll leave sails, battcars, headsail furlers, running rigging, winches, antennas, windex and associated stuff out for now. Those are easier to figure out anyway. The price should be in US dollars with the work performed in a good yard in the US. We can convert other currencies and other locales if you wish. I know there are lots of variables but I was just trying to keep it simple so try not to get too technical and try not to nitpick it to death. If you have done this then please give the size of the boat and cost and we'll see if we can work something out.
I was hoping to use a 34' Gemini (although any cat will do) as a baseline and to work upwards from there.
And please keep it simple. We can do this.

If you tell me the Catamarán Brand i can figure a quote in Euros , we have a long database in the computer and we work with most Spar makers. Just to have a idea...

No specific cat but if you could quote a few different size boats then that would be a good start. Or just one.

Give me a example, i can quote a Zspar from a Lagoon 41 or a Soromap from a FP, lenght, ? 1 or 2 spreaders, ?

If you want i can get a spar Price from a L380, will be enough?

L380 would be good.

L380.

The spar by ZSPAR with the boom, rigging, and shipping fees its 14380Euros.
Without a new furler, if the customer want a Brand new Profurl , Facnor, the quote is around 17000 euros.

The spar is a doublé piece , with a internal sheave .

No winches, fixtures, lights, antenas are quoted, just the mast, boom, rigging and furler.

Well this was not on a cat but it may give you some measure of the cost.

Our mast was damaged while it was on a rack in storage last year. It was replaced by our insurance company. The boom was fine and not replaced.

It is a Selden mast with inmast furling. The new mast came with new standing rigging. It's a B&R rig with discontinuous rigging so quite expensive with all the swagged fittings as well as the double diagonals. Also all new wiring (lights and vhf), new halyards and topping lift. As well as new in-mast furler with mast mounted winch. It is a deck stepped mast with two spreaders, airdraft is 55 ft.

The work was performed by the Hinckley Yard in Florida. The total cost was about $18K US. I think the materials were about $14K the rest labour. It included reinstall of the radar. It was almost a whole day to dress the mast. And it was about half a day to lift the boat, use a crane to set up the mast on the vessel and cutting the stays putting on the sta-loks etc. the rest of the day was for the boom, the kicker, sails and so on.

The labour was a bit higher because the new mast had a larger shoe and required a larger plate on the compression post. Our mast sits directly on the compression post. The post passes through the deck to sit on the keel. Hinckley shops had to pull the compression post out, fab a new plate, weld and polish and reinstall.

The work was excellent. Steve Pettengill was the rigger and he did a fantastic job.

With an $18k base line for the L380 how much would it increase per foot of length of the cat? Would a 48' cat's rig be double the cost of the 38'?

The reason I'm doing this is because just about all the other items on a boat have easily sourced prices.

Yes - sorry - ordinary typing fingers. Thats for really good quality non rotating aluminium.

Yes at least double, the stability from a 38' to a 48' increases 2.5 times

Just in for a visit to our local loft and it seems everything is priced by the foot, to give you some idea. It's maybe a point of reference.

Yes, but bigger boats require thicker, heavier and wider masts. Price by the foot is only good for a specific mast section. More spreaders allow thinner masts but I suspect the price difference would be a wash.

So if a new L380 rig is about $18,000 and a generic 48' cat's mast is about twice as much then we could use $18,000 as a baseline and for each foot increase in length multiplied by a tenth more. In other words a 39' would be $18K multiplied by 1.1 and a 40' would be $18K x 1.2 and so on.

Does that seem about right? More or less?
