Missing sailboat Limone 30 miles East Montserrat, Caribbean Sea

There's a Maestro 40' sailing vessel named 'Limone', owner rescued by Montserrat coastgaurd July 23.
Boat left adrift in position : 16 48.24 N - 063 19.02 W the 23 rd July at 1930
Number on the hull is A 58558 owned by Fitzroy Armour.
By my rough calculation it should be about 30 miles South Puerto Rico at present but who knows.

masonc,

Any idea of the back story on the abandonment? Plans to find the vessel?

Ann

He told me he had a new rudder constructed in St. Martin, and it failed, rotated on the shaft. He was unable to steer. He requested help from Montserrat. The CG came to his aid but the effort to connect a towline went badly, ended up with his rigging getting damaged. The tow also went badly so they cut the vessel loose.
I don't think he has any resources to find it that far away. If anyone is sailing in the area south of PR and Dominican Republic, please keep an eye out for a dismasted boat.
